Mandara Hut

Mandara Hut is the first overnight stop for trekkers ascending Mount Kilimanjaro via the Marangu Route. Located at an altitude of approximately 2,700 meters (8,858 feet), this scenic rest point is nestled within the lush rainforest zone of Kilimanjaro National Park. The area is rich in biodiversity, with towering trees, exotic bird species, and the occasional sighting of colobus monkeys. Mandara Hut consists of wooden A-frame cabins with dormitory-style accommodations, providing a comfortable resting place before the trek continues to higher altitudes. Just a short walk from the huts, visitors can explore the Maundi Crater, which offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.
