Barafu Camp

Barafu Camp is one of the most crucial stops on the journey to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Located at an elevation of 4,673 meters (15,331 feet), this high-altitude campsite serves as the launching point for the final push to Uhuru Peak. The name “Barafu” means “ice” in Swahili, and the camp lives up to its name with its chilly temperatures and rugged, rocky terrain.
